| Skiing Sunday in winter wonderland |
About 45 international and Norwegian students took part on Arctic Escape's skiing trip to Bestemorenga on Sunday arranged by The Student Welfare Organisation. The students had a great time skiing,snowboarding, sledging,having snowball fights and enjoying hot dogs on the camp fire. Thanks to excellent help from young Norwegian skiing instructors, the students learnt to ski quite well. [ Read more ] - 10.03.2010

| North 2 North staff exchange to Iceland for new fisheries and coastal history research |
Professor of history Alf Ragnar Nielssen at Bodø University College's Faculty of Social Sciences travels on a North 2 North staff exchange agreement to The University of Akureyri in Iceland in March. Nielssen is currently building up information and source material as a participator in a national project on Norway's fisheries and coastal history, in cooperation with researchers at The University of Bergen, The University of Tromsø and Volda University College. | Bodø University College at Education Fair in Hamburg, Germany |
At the weekend Bodø University College attended an Education and Job Fair 'Einstieg' in Hamburg Germany. "It appears that the nature of northern Norway along with courses and programmes available in the English and the lack of tuition fees was very popular amongst the Germany students", says Ellen Abelgård. There were a total of 335 exhibitions and 38,000 visitors attended many of which were students aged between 16-20.

| Arctic Escape goes skiing on Sunday 7th March |
The Arctic Escape programme for international and Norwegian students has proved a great success right from the start providing unique nature experience and exciting activities. On Sunday 7th March Skiing Sunday will be arranged at Bestemorenga just outside Bodø with skiing, sledging, games, bonfires and hot dogs. The Faculty of Bioscience and Aquaculture at the Bodø University College (Norway) seeks applicants for a PhD position in Molecular Ecology / Ecological genomics. The position is a three year employment.
